The Young Toddler Room is for children ages 18 months to 2 years old.
A very fun room! The Young Toddler Room is a transition room from little baby to toddler. Children begin to develop an ever increasing desire for independence. And our room enables that desire. Concepts such as eating meals at a table, circle time, and even potty training ( if and when they are ready) are all introduced in this room.
Our main goal here is to provide a safe, loving and stimulating environment.
Young Toddler Schedule
Everyday parents and caregivers are given a Daily Toddler Report. This will let you know everything your child has done throughout the day, how their day was and what they ate for breakfast, lunch and snack.
The toddler's have their very own playground. We try to go outside and play everyday!!
Weather permitting.
Morning Drop Off -Free play (Children are allowed to play with toys, books, puzzles, etc...)
7:30 - Diaper changes / potty time
7:40 - 8:00 - Story Time (Teachers read book or play books on tape for the children. Children are also given the opportunity to choose their own books)
8:00 - 8:45 - Independent Play (Children are encouraged to play independently or one-on-one with a teacher. Activities include blocks, puzzles, etc...)
9:00 - Diapers/potty time
9:10 - 9:30 - Breakfast...YUMMY!
9:30 - 10:00 - Circle Time. Circle time consists of learning the days of the week, months and year. We sing songs that help us with our fine motor and auditory skills. We also learn the alphabet and numbers.
10:00 - 10:45 - Art and sensory time (painting, gluing, cutting, coloring as well as other activities.) Children are encouraged during this time to explore different textures and materials such as, rice, noodles, water etc...
10:45 - 11:00 - Diapers/Potty Time
11:00 - 11:30 Lunch...Lunch Time is Fun Time!!
11:45 - 2:30 - Nap Time... We are so tired by now!
2:45 - 3:00 - Snack Time...Yay!
3:00 - 5:30 Let's Get Ready to go Home! We use this time to play independently or in small groups with lots of different materials and fun toys. We will also spend this time outside on the playground.
